There’s one feature we all know Loisaba Conservancy for and that’s got to be the Kiboko Starbed – imagine yourself sleeping outside in the African wilderness, watching the stars twinkle above you, on a large bed with land rover wheels overlooking the hippo’s dam right below. This has got to be the ultimate luxury under the Kenyan sky and one of the most romantic spots in the world.

The Loisaba Conservancy covers an area of roughly 156,000 acres and it lies on the edge of the Laikipia Plateau, north west of Mount Kenya. In the northern part of the conservancy there are vast grassy plains of the plateau. In the south, the plateau breaks into the valleys, escarpment and cliffs. In the valleys and low lands a different ecosystem exists, lush groves of acacia, fig and palms fed by the waters of the Ewaso Ngi’ro and the Ngare Narok rivers. From many of these elevated view points you can see the faint blue outline of Mount Kenya. Loisaba also boosts a diverse and rare range of wildlife.

Apart from the starbeds, Loisaba had included a beautiful lodge which had sadly burned down during a bush fire in 2013, but in March of 2016 the phoenix rises from the ashes and a whole new “Loisaba Tented Camp” opens with a spectacular look and the same stunning views of the majestic Mount Kenya.

The new tented camp will compromise of four stylish and extremely spacious double rooms, one deluxe tented suite and two family tents, each made up of two double en-suite tents with shared verandas. An exclusive family residence will offer three en-suite rooms, a shared private lounge, dining tent and private pool.

Loisaba Tented Camps is the epitome of style and luxury in the African wilderness.
